As of now, exhibitors at “interzum 2017” can register their innovations for “interzum award: intelligent material and design 2017”. Koelnmesse is already hosting the design competition for the ninth time in collaboration with Red Dot. Until 3 March, the furniture supplier industry is invited to face the international comparison with their products. The best designs will be selected by an international expert jury.

interzum 2017 – the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design

　　From 16 to 19 May 2017, “interzum” will once again bring together representatives from the global furniture supplier industry in Cologne, Germany. At the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design, the exhibitors set new standards and offer visitors from industry, trade and the retail seCTOr an overview of the innovations in the industry. They provide the impetus for designing the living spaces of the future.

Free participation at “interzum award 2017”

International expert jury

　　Five respected and independent international experts from design and architecture assess the products’ design quality and make a final decision concerning the industry award. Besides architect and designer Dr. Luisa Bocchietto from Italy, Martin Darbyshire, founder and CEO of London-based design consultancy “tangerine”, and Dutch designer Dick Spierenburg will assess the product innovations in 2017. The expert panel is completed by Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Martin Stosch, lecturer on the Wood Technology at Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award.

　　Already prior to the trade fair, exhibitors at “interzum” are provided with the exclusive chance to enter the “interzum award: intelligent material & design” free of charge. Participants can register one or several products – for the first time in four categories: the competition is looking for the best designs from the fields of “materials and surfaces”, “fittings, glass and lighting”, “upholstery manufacture and bedding”, and – for the first time – “mobile spaces”.
